崑崙虛 Kunlun Xu

【昆仑虚】

海内昆仑之虚，在西北，帝之下都。昆仑之虚，方八百里，高万仞。上有木禾，长五寻，大五围。面有九井，以玉为槛。面有九门，门有开明兽守之，百神之所在。在八隅之岩，赤水之际，非仁羿莫能上冈之岩。

Kunlun Xu (The Void of Kunlun)

From The Classic of Mountains and Seas, Kunlun Xu is a mythical sacred mountain in the northwest, known as the "lower capital of the Emperor of Heaven".

It spans 800 li square (about 332,640 meters) and rises 10,000 ren high (about 18,480 meters). On top grows a giant grain tree, 5 xun tall (about 9.24 meters) and 5 wei in girth (about 5.775 meters). Each side has nine jade-railed wells and nine gates, guarded by the divine beast Kaiming—a tiger-like creature with nine human heads.

This is the dwelling place of hundreds of gods, located by the Red River among steep cliffs. Only a hero like Yi could climb its perilous slopes.
