女子国在巫咸北，两女子居，水周之。一曰居一门中。

The Kingdom of Women lies to the north of Wuxian, the land of divine wizards. Two noble women dwell in this secluded realm, which is entirely encircled by clear flowing waters. Another ancient record notes that the two women reside quietly within a solitary closed gate. This legendary land is one of the most elegant and mysterious feminine fairylands recorded in Shan Hai Jing, carrying the soft and remote romantic charm of ancient Chinese mythological geography.

我在读到山海经这个地方的时候，脑中有很多想象，在那个年代（这本书成书于几近2000年前）的传说故事，女子结伴居于山中是很动人的情景，但另外也在思考究竟是什么让她们做出这种选择，被水环绕，日子究竟是如何生存？我把她们的世界干脆塑造成了用水形成的滔天巨门，像水帘洞一样的桃源。
