宀 is a prefix in Chinese characters, originally meaning cave, later extended to signify home and shelter.

Together they make the character 安, meaning safety. 

Yet all the character 女 was traced with red pigment, referring to the blood and tears of these women under the rooftop. 

In memory of all the comfort women who suffered during wartime across the world.

The history shall never forget.
